The Mandarin Orange Education Foundary was established to foster civic pride in California’s historic heritage of the Mandarin Orange, to promote community identity and stimulate involvement of residents in community activities through sponsorship and celebration of the Mandarin Orange, Mandarin Orange Food and food nutritional related information, Mandarin Orange cookbook, and Mandarin Orange cultural and history preservation through education.

To this end, the activities of the corporation shall include raising funds and offer help in the an annual festival (Mandarin Festival) and other awareness, providing financial support for area schools with emphasis on the primary grades, offering class room presentations, and granting scholarships to deserving students.

There have been issues about the Mandarin Orange Education Foundary and the spelling or misspellings of the word Foundary. A foundry is better known as a factory that produces metal castings and such.

Therefore:

Why use Foundary in this organizations name? It’s FOUND (verb) = to lay the base or substructure of; to set on a firm base; to originate, initiate or create. ARY = addition to verb, making description of action being carried out.

The Mandarin Orange Education Foundary sets a firm base for the education of the Mandarin Orange that is carried out by the board members, Executive Officers, and Educational Historian to educate the public in general. And, to educate the public about the history/culture surrounding the Mandarin Orange as it pertains to Northern California.
